Project Highlight: SEW Eurodrive by NORSA GmbH (Bruchsal, Germany)

NORSA GmbH recently completed the floors for SEW Eurodrive's corporate headquarters in Bruchsal, Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany.  The owners of the building specified the Ashford Formula on the 416,029 sqf / 38,650 sqm project, which was started in December 2008 and completed in August 2009.  SEW Eurodrive is an "international organization that manufactures geared motors, frequency inverters and servo drives."  They employ over 11,000 people worldwide.*

According to NORSA GmbH, the project was "an overall great experience" because "quality standards during construction were set high." The building owners understood that cleaning the floors were very important to achieving an excellent floor.  Applicators originally cleaned the entire floor in preparation for the Ashford Formula, and for every subsequent application phase the owners cleaned and prepared the floor for the applicators.

Well done to NORSA GmbH and their crew for an excellent project, and to Jeannette Hogue for submitting this project highlight.  The floor looks great!

Ashford Formula Featured in CONCRETE TECHNOLOGY TODAY Publication

The Ashford Formula was recently featured in Concrete Technology Today Magazine (Volume 4, 2009), a publication based in Singapore. The article featured the Ashford Formula's use on existing concrete floors, and specifically focused on the work completed at the General Motors Service and Parts Operations (SPO) Plant in Drayton Plains, Michigan, USA.

The article focused on the facility's damaged concrete floors and the more than 50 years of wax build-up that began to chip off under the extreme weight of forklifts. The floors were plagued with "dangerous pits, ridges, and unevenness " causing forklifts to bounce as they carried heavy loads throughout the facility. Tire markings were also a significant concern as the light reflectivity of the space had been significantly compromised due to the floor's severe damage.

Rehab Floor: ProLogis by Probeton Sp. z o.o. (Katovice, Poland)

The Ashford Formula was applied on the floor of a new ProLogis warehouse in Katovice, Poland. The floor had been abused by the previous tenant and ProLogis wanted to bring the floor up to a respectable standard before acquiring the space.

The Ashford Formula Distributor in Poland, Probeton Sp. z o.o., approached ProLogis to expound on the virtues of an Ashford Formula treated floor. This led to the completion a 3,000 sqm refurbished floor along with 6,000 sqm of additional new flooring treated with the Ashford Formula.

Probeton Sp. z o.o. has consistently sought out the refurbishment market ever since they became an exclusive Ashford Formula Distributor in Poland. This has led to their great success over the last 5 years and this project is only a small representation of their classic work in their region.
