Congratulations to Derin Demirsoy!

Curecrete Distribution, Inc. is proud to acknowledge the achievements of Derin Demirsoy who won the 2009 Show Jumping Grand Prix in Salzburg, Austria. Derin, only 15 years old, competed in the 16-25 age division with his horse Murano Surprise.

"A sensation was his victory! Derin Demirsoy today saw the European Youngster Cup not only because of his young age of only 15 years for attention but also because of his performance on the course. In the saddle of his 10-year-old son Murano Surprise, he proved not only talent but also feel for distance and speed. The only Nullfehlerritt brought the first victory in the European Youngster Cup S ** and a lot of attention to the professional audience." (As reported on www.eycup.eu)

Derin is the son of Emir Demirsoy, international distributor for the Ashford Formula in Turkey.  Congratulations Derin for a job well done!  We are very proud of you!

Allstate's Eco-Friendly Data Center (Rochelle, IL)

The Ashford Formula was recently applied to 23,000-square-feet of Allstate Insurance Company's new "Eco-Friendly Data Center" in Rochelle, IL.  According to the press release, this 65,000-sqaure-foot facility "is targeted to meet LEED Gold certification" and is "one of America's most energy-efficient and environmentally conscious data centers."

Allstate has released a short video highlighting this facility's "green" attributes, including a few great shots of their newly treated Ashford Formula concrete floors (pictures at 00:39 - 0:40 seconds).

Ashford Formula's "green" attributes were no doubt a major factor in its selection for use on this facility.  Ashford Formula is water-based, contains no Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) and is fume and vapor free.  Unlike many other floor coverings which require adhesives, or contain fibers that can harbor ordors and other indoor air contaminants, the Ashford Formula seals and dustproofs exposed concrete floors, eliminating any concern regarding poor indoor air quality.  The Ashford Formula is also a one-time, permanent application that lasts the lifetime of the concrete, and is also ideal for preserving and protecting existing concrete floors.  Preparing existing floors with Ashford Formula reduces waste, as well as the need for new construction materials (see "LEED Point Contributor: The Ashford Formula").

Curecrete Distribution, Inc. and the Ashford Formula are proud to have contributed to this great, eco-friendly facility.  Our appreciation goes out to Bob Donahue, Ashford Formula Technical Field Representative and Artlow Systems who served as the applicator for this project.  Great job!

M&M Distributing Coors Beer (Salt Lake City, UT)

Ashford Formula was applied to the concrete floors of the M&M Distributing facility in Salt Lake City, UT in the late 1970s. Tony Perry, Operations Manager at M&M Distributing explains the improvements and benefits of using Ashford Formula in his facility and demonstrates the extreme hardness the floor has taken on since being treated. Along with a solid floor, Tony also explains the natural sheen which develops with time and traffic, the dustproofing benefits of Ashford Formula, and also the minimal maintenance required to maintain the floor's surface.

Project Highlight: SEW Eurodrive by NORSA GmbH (Bruchsal, Germany)

NORSA GmbH recently completed the floors for SEW Eurodrive's corporate headquarters in Bruchsal, Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany.  The owners of the building specified the Ashford Formula on the 416,029 sqf / 38,650 sqm project, which was started in December 2008 and completed in August 2009.  SEW Eurodrive is an "international organization that manufactures geared motors, frequency inverters and servo drives."  They employ over 11,000 people worldwide.*

According to NORSA GmbH, the project was "an overall great experience" because "quality standards during construction were set high." The building owners understood that cleaning the floors were very important to achieving an excellent floor.  Applicators originally cleaned the entire floor in preparation for the Ashford Formula, and for every subsequent application phase the owners cleaned and prepared the floor for the applicators.

Well done to NORSA GmbH and their crew for an excellent project, and to Jeannette Hogue for submitting this project highlight.  The floor looks great!
